PART 1: Jalan-Jalan
HIGHLIGHTS
(21st Dec - 24th Dec)
As-salamu'alaikum.
This is our third visit to Penang within the span of a year. On our previous trips we didn't get to explore Georgetown as we had stayed in Butterworth (mainland) & Bayan Lepas (south west of island) respectively. We only drove by and had short stops at certain locations in Georgetown on previous trips without having leisure time exploring the streets of Georgetown. So this time around we set our target for a 4-day stay in Georgetown to explore its famous eateries. My main aim was to check out some of the well known Nasi Kandar outlets + other recommended eateries and to indulge in their local specialities.

Being a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Georgetown has a lot to offer as far as sightseeing is concerned. Georgetown boasts a large numbers of unique historical and cultural architectures dating back to the colonial and pre-war eras. Our time in Georgetown were spent mostly on foot as we would appreciate Georgetown better this way. It is quite a unique experience. The hotel we stayed in is located nearby Georgetown's little India and Padang Kota Lama where we spent most of our time wandering around looking for the best makan places in town.
